Operation Support Our Troops America is a non-profit organization based in Naperville, Illinois, USA. Our website is www.osotamerica.org, where you can get a feel of who we are, what we do, and view our mission statement. Our organization was formed in 2002. We are currently going through an identity crisis as our organization has grown beyond our original mission of sending comfort and care packages to American Troops serving overseas. Our current logo was designed with this program in mind. It evokes an image of a canceled postage stamp and American flag to symbolize support for our Troops, and the idea of sending and receiving a package that contains items that are not easily obtained while deployed overseas. In nearly all instances, the packages arrive unannounced and the recipient is surprised and glad to receive it.

Over the past several years, we have expanded our programs to include supporting US veterans who need temporary assistance (fixing a car to keep a job, paying an electric bill before service is shut off, etc.), Families of the Fallen (otherwise known as Gold Star Families - those who have lost a loved one while serving their country), and most recently First Responders - persons who are trained to respond to emergencies, fires, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, etc. and their families.

Our goal is to convey who we are and what we do through our logo. It can include a sub logo as well. A key phrase to consider translating into a logo: caring for, assisting, and supporting our active service members, veterans, families of the fallen, and first responders through the various programs we provide.

    Something I would like to see more of - the words "Caring for our Heroes". I also think any kind of image evoking the American Flag regardless of how abstract is a requirement along with using only red, white, and blue. Thanks! Dan

    Thanks so much to those who have submitted some concepts so far. I am seeing some really great creativity. Want to add some clarification to what I would like to see. Since we our major programs are devoted to different audiences, I would like to see some sub-logo's or whatever you think works that includes the words Active Military, Veterans, Families of the Fallen or Gold Star Families, and First Responders.
