I have a modern app called the Love Jungle, it is posted in the Windows 8 store. The functionality works great, however the graphics are pretty weak and could use an upgrade. The purpose of this contest is for designers to propose small improvements by proposing a new version of each of the graphics in the list below, to make the game look better. I believe the easiest approach would be to replace each of the existing graphics with a new graphic, such that the combination of all of them give the game a look & feel make over. We don't want to get too extravagant here, so the jungle theme needs to stay (although the background image and style could change if you have something) and the idea of having a framework around the heart should stay too (although I will keep an open mind if you have a better idea) since the goal of the game is to make it through each of the six levels to "unlock" each of the animals.

Here are some examples of what I see as the problems right now: 1. the wooden looking thing around the heart looks like it is made out of popsicle sticks, and the level achievements are showing a user's completion as being a leaf with a check mark, etc. Doesn't look very professional in my opinion. Instead, it could be way more realistic if the animals were trapped in a cage of made of bamboo twigs lashed together at the joints by little vines or ropes (with the whole cage still being wrapped around the heart) the animals inside the cage could be like little prisoners of war that need to be set free. Maybe the padlocks are little sign placards showing the level, or maybe they are like little numbers on prisoner's cells? Or perhaps you show that a level is complete by the cage being smashed open in that spot with the bamboo splintered and shattered? Just some ideas. The winner of this contest will likely be selected to perform additional follow-on work on a time & materials basis, as we will need to update other portions of the app as well, to carry your new style throughout. Here are the list of image sizes that need replacing:

• Jungle background – 868 x 420
• Wooden path around heart - 743 x 540
• Heart (7 versions needed with various fill levels from almost empty to full) - 400 x 378
• Animals – 181 x 190
• Footer image behind buttons – 868 x 50
• Footer buttons – 42 x 42
• Challenge marker (wood block with number, stars, and lock/checkmark) – 145 x 154
• Checkmark – 30 x 45
• Stars (4 versions are required: 0 filled, 1 filled, 2 filled, and 3 filled) – 100 x 39
• Lock – 30 x 45

Also you can see the screenshots of how the app currently looks today, but looking at the attached screenshots, or by going to the Windows Store. The winning entry will be required to submit each of the new images from the list above, according the designated pixel sizes. Additional hourly project extensions may be required to fine-tune specific images later. I am looking forward to answering any questions and seeing what you come up with!

  OK, i will extend. I'd really like to see someone try the bamboo cage structure i was describing with animals sitting in cages on little platforms and then getting broken free when the levels are achieved (e.g. broken cage door, sign placard having a checkmark, lock broken, etc)

  I do like your icons and footer with the wood texture, but i am not a fan of the railroad tracks with the car on it. The other alternatives look very similar to what i have today. Feel free to take a shot at the bamboo cage structure i was talking about....

  Its a good clean start, so thank you for submitting. Frankly i'm not sure what the wooden structure represents. Are the circles going to become barrels that the animals hide behind?

  Regarding your doubt about WOODEN STRUCTURE ... it is an alternative to the WOODEN FRAME tht you had ... I don't think it adds any value ... Removing it will give a better feel of the JUNGLE AMBIANCE ... And about the circles can be interpreted the way you have described ... but I had another IDEA in mind which I will visually show you and we have two different ideas and options (one which you suggested and visualised and another one will be mine which I am yet to put... )

  In my opinion, this type of project doesn't make sense to seal. It becomes way too much wasted effort on the part of the designers and myself, as I have to explain everything many times. That said, I do recognize the need for creativity and originality... and since this project will likely result in follow-on work, i will be keeping track of where ideas first originated so that I am tracking where the talent exists that best lines up with what i'm trying to do. About the animals, do they have to be all the same animals you have but a better version of them? If so can you list their names? Thank you.

  They are currently a bird, a monkey, a rhino, a lion, a panda, and a sloth. You can see faint images of them if you look at the gameboard jpeg attached to the project. I'm not looking for them to be replaced in this phase unless you have some better ones. I mainly just want to improve the look and feel of the current structure around the heart. The way the game works, the heart slowly fills up as you make progress through levels. The animals are "achievements" at each level. I was thinking, what if the structure around the heart is a bamboo cage, holding the animals in it? with the level numbers being little cell placards...then when a level is completed, the animal is freed from its cage... or something like that.
