Two linear drawings-First Linear

Hi DonnaTinWV, These are the ones I have. Still on the pencil process for now but I did an extra version, which I didn't show you before. So for the first linear, I used the character design I showed you and turned it into a more refined drawing in order to show how the elements are placed. Then I got new ideas on the character design so I drew the second linear. I personally think the second linear has more "happy" look and I am thinking about using oil paint because I know how to make it crayon-like by using oil. I don't know which one you prefer and I think your decision is the most important since you are the author of the book. And please feel free to give me some feedbacks. Thanks!

oh my! I saw this after I sent the entry #45 ! ok ya I think I know what you mean now. The symbols are really helpful! lol I think I will make the string more like this in the end: \ \ because there's not much room on the right side. And I don't think I'll make it into this / \ since it will be a foreshortening

Well, "angular" and "bent" are two different things, right? (Just want to make sure I'm understanding you...) Try this: attache something heavy to the end of a string, and swing it back and forth. Does the string EVER bend?? No, it rotates on an angle, but it is ALWAYS straight. Not always like this: l Sometimes like this: / or \ But never like this: ~ Does that make sense?

Alright I was studying my image and I just want to know do you prefer the ropes to be "straignt"? or it can be a bit bent because of the action of swinging? Like the rope close to the mama rabbit and I will make changes on the other rope.

That's a really good point about the swing! lol Thank you! I will change it and post it up once it's fixed. haha I actually like it black and white too! but I think I'll still upload a coloured version so we can kind of compare the results. And thanks for the compliment!:)

Two things I really like about this one: the blanket and the wood grain of the swing -- nice details! One suggestion I do have for you is about the rope: unless it is straight and "tight", it makes the swing appear to "float" on air... see? I love the pencil sketch as it is without the color, actually. Pencil drawings are appealing, too. I wouldn't change that... really. This would make a beautiful black and white entry!
