I made my first website before I was 10. Well, it was a horrible blue and yellow page with some silly pictures and nonsense writing, but it was HTML, and it was fun! Ever since, I've enjoyed reading, listening, and watching everything I can to become a better programmer. There's always more to learn, and it's what I love doing! I have both Australian and UK citizenship, and an Australian business number.

If asked, I think every software developer would say they also work for themselves. Just like everyone else, I too have been paid to do small and medium sized projects in my spare time. These have been both native Windows applications, as well as websites. They continue to be a great opportunity to try out new technologies and practices. The only downside is the extra complications at tax time.

In order to move overseas, I resigned from emerchants. Upon resigning, I was invited to continue working remotely as a contractor. This allowed me to focus solely on producing good software, without some of the distractions associated with a full-time office job. Working from home has not only given me more freedom, but also a lot of perspective. It's been an up and down experience, but well worth it.

In addition to below, I put a lot of time and energy into architecture, process, technology, and automation improvements aimed at increasing the teams productivity, and decreasing the risk of software defects. I was recognised on several occasions for going to extra mile to ensure our customers received the best product possible.

emerchants provides innovative payment solutions leveraging reloadable and non-reloable prepaid debit cards (EFTPOS and Visa). I helped develop the vast ecosystem of websites, background services, and APIs which makes this possible.

Since Raytheon is a defence contractor, if you ask my friends: I made bombs and programmed the red nuclear launch button. In reality, I developed software which managed the transport, tracking, and maintenance of the Australian Defence Force's less dangerous equipment: scales, muiltimeters, guages, etc.
