I have worked on desktop applications for Ready Theatre Systems (Point of Sale software for 700+ Theatres). The scope of my work at RTS was primarily reporting and database access, but I also created printer layout code for many popular ticket printers (Epson Thermal Escape language printers, Practical Automation Printers, etc...) as well as more eclectic functions such as a show-time display and sand-boxed end user scripted elements. When I started at RTS I worked in tech support, and I have several years experience both with phone and email support for a plethora of Windows, POS specific, and internet commerce issues (our software linked to the ready ticket network). I also helped setup and configure many types of POS equipment and have experience creating multiple boot batch files that install windows updates and other software (VNC, etc...). To test online server connectivity for our application, I programmed a multi-threaded port scanner which is probably still in use at RTS to this day. Later I worked for Michigan Works!, a government funded employment agency. Shortly after starting work at Michigan Works! I helped refactor and rebuild the welfare reform database at that location to take advantage of a MySQL back-end (they were using a non-normalized Access MDB file only). I also created a separate application to help automate data entry on the State website. I would not hesitate to work outside of the .Net framework, and have a small amount of experience with PHP, javascript, and Python.
