Following an early career in medical laboratory sciences, Mel Dunkin moved to lecturing at technical colleges and universities in Europe and Africa, ultimately settling in Johannesburg. Following a move to medical electronics sales with Honeywell, he became interested in computing, becoming skilled in web design utilising HTML, classic ASP, Javascript and backend database programming with MS Access, SQL and VBScript. Shortly thereafter he began freelancing and, in the last five years, he has combined these skills with a natural flair for creative writing to provide online marketing services to a number of corporate clients in industries as diverse as travel, insurance, banking, health, real estate, human resources and education. Today his sole focus is writing, a task for which his diverse background and skills have served him well.
