Kirin Beer Bottle Redesign
Client: Portfolio Project: Kirin Beer Bottle Redesign Brief: To update the Kirin beer packaging to appeal to a younger more professional audience while maintaining the rich heritage of the brand. Execution: I chose a much cleaner and simplified approach to the appearance of the Kirin bottle to appeal to an audience who is usually very enamoured with minimalist features in their lives. I kept the use of gold through the design, however I changed the background from white to red, which signifies wealth and prestige in Japanese culture. The 'Kirin' I changed from an illustration to a gold emboss on both the main and neck labels to further the feel of class and expensive taste. As Japanese culture is very popular, I increased the presence of the Japanese text, but also gave it a more traditional feel by making it more calligraphic as opposed to just a font.
