R.P. Quinn Consulting was founded by Ryan Quinn in 2006. Mr. Quinn has been working as a web programmer and server administrator since the 1990's first as an independent consultant, then, from 2001 in the ISP industry. He has been involved in writing and maintaining several CMS (Content Management Systems) for use in the Internet Service Provider industry that currently serve as the homepages for around 100,000 users. Mr Quinn has been working with UNIX, Linux and Windows web, DNS, and email servers since 2001 as an administrator and has also been involved in creating web hosting management packages, back office systems, customer care and trouble ticketing systems and other web based applications for use in the ISP industry.
From 2001-2002 Mr. Quinn was employed as the Web Master and Web Developer for Midwest Communications Inc ([login to view URL]) in Dubuque, Iowa where he was in charge of all web hosting services as well as the corporate web presence.
From 2002-2006 Mr. Quinn was employed as the Director of Portal Services for a national Internet service wholesaler servicing over 500,000 end users nationwide and in Canada. In addition to developing a custom web hosting control panel system while there, he managed their web portal CMS systems which he developed and did custom programming work as well as work in sales, marketing, graphic design, and Linux, UNIX, and windows server administration.
In 2004 Mr. Quinn founded the Symphony OS Linux distribution, a Linux distribution that used a Debian base and a custom desktop environment based on the gecko engine from Mozilla which is designed for extreme ease of use.
In 2007 Mr. Quinn accepted a two month contract to develop a Linux based operating sytem for a range of devices for Tsinghua Tongfang in Shenzhen, China. The products, branded LimePC were unveiled at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV.
In 2008 Mr. Quinn accepted a position with Visuality Media productions in Madison, WI where he participated in building numerous web sites, systems, animations, and games for several non-profit, medical, and education organizations.
