History: I started programming with a couple friends for fun back in 1998. I was 15 and at the time I played around making programs and games in QBasic and on my TI-83 calculator. I slowly graduated to VB and C/C++ and now practice in PHP/MYSQL where most of my job experience lies. Currently, I develop and maintain both [login to view URL] (NBF) and [login to view URL] (DTF). When I started I had absolutely no experience with vBulletin, in fact I was answering phone calls as a part of a related work, but I was still given the opportunity to experiment with the site, on the side. I started modding the forum and soon after started developing a website around the forums. The goal was to develop a system to centralize user reviews within our forums for better accessibility. Capabilities of this system evolved to collect extensive sets of data for laptops including specifications, reviews, benchmarks and ratings. The system also compiles a list of laptop pricing from resources like eBay and CNET. The site has become a popular laptop resource site for computer enthusiasts. It originates several techniques for data integration within a vbulletin forum . All pages surrounding the forum (including homepage) are built using vbulletin's template and plugin system and are self-contained so that upgrades are relatively painless - I've completed several upgrades and facelifts since I started. I also try to make sure all pages are W3C validated and have deployed sophisticated functionality for SEO. Other Projects: Most recently I launched [login to view URL] as a sister site to NBF. We had enough desktop content on [login to view URL] to build desktop related site. [login to view URL] uses a modified version of the NBF software to power itself and the user base is shared across NBF so users don't have to sign up again to post on DTF. Other projects I've been involved with - which are out of my hands now - include backend development for [login to view URL] and the initialization and launch of [login to view URL].
