I have been a self-employed medical transcriptionist for over six years. I have experience in gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery and pain management, dermatology, and a little bit of oncology. I have transcribed for many different doctors with varying accents (including foreign). I received my certificate in medical transcription from the Community College of Rhode Island in 2006 with a 4.0 GPA. I am meticulous in my work habits. I have excellent grammar and punctuation skills, and I always proofread my work before turning it in. I have a complete home office set up. I use Microsoft Word 2010 on a daily basis. I have a foot pedal and headset as well as a variety of transcription software to ensure I can transcribe all different types of files. My reason for joining freelancer is to find freelance job opportunities that give me the chance to branch out and gain experience in other types of transcription, both medical and general. My hourly rate is not set in stone, I am completely open to negotiation depending on the type of work that needs to be done. I am generally available 7 days a week to accept jobs. I have a very flexible schedule which allows me to accept jobs with a quick turn around time.
