Once a fast-paced journalist who thrived on the adrenalin rush created by ferreting out hard-hitting news stories, meeting carved-in-stone deadlines and leading the charge in the daily management of the publishing industry, I have now opted for the more sedentary life of a retired man. Even in retirement, there is an urgency to remain active in my former profession for personal gratification. To that end I undertake writing and editing projects both offline and online. I have also enlarged my scope of activities by adding typing and data entry to my list of online projects. Known by most as a perfectionist, I have spent a lifetime cultivating the various skills that have earned me a number of journalistic awards. These include accolades for photography, writing, editing, page layout and overall excellence in newspaper production. I also have a reputation for being able to ferret out those hard to spot imperfections that can easily sabotage a project. I detest incorrect spelling, bad grammar, improper punctuation and clumsy sentences and paragraphs. My 30-plus years as a journalist has allowed me to develop a typing speed in excess of 80 error-free wpm and a keen eye for detail. This is demonstrated by the quality product you will receive from me each and every time you utilize my services. For years I worked with strict deadlines in the publishing industry, so I am very sensitive to any target dates that may be attached to a project. I am reliable and punctual and you will always have your product on time, and often early. I also taught journalism and creative writing at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada for two years. For three years, I taught night school classes in creative writing at Beaver Brae High School in Kenora, Ontario Canada. I am available on a full-time basis. I am not a Snowbird, spending months in warmer climates, nor do I travel or take extended vacations. I now spend a great portion of my time at my computer working on one project or another. I am devoted to my clients and their special needs. With extensive experience in research, writing and editing, my career included tenures as reporter/photographer, bureau chief, news editor, city editor and managing editor. My final 13 years in the industry were spent as a publisher with Canada's second largest news giant. As publisher, I was in charge of the entire newspaper operation. I also know enough HTML to build a simple website and perform some other tasks. I am also able to create and upload PDF ebooks. I also am an ordained minister with a degree (1987 – Western Bible College) in theology. I am retired from that profession as well.
