The Panty Project

The objective of The Panty Project is to create awareness about gender inequality by highlighting the disparity that exists between girls’ and boys’ school uniforms. The issue is that young women and mothers need to critically consider the limitations they faced in being forced to wear a school dress as opposed to shorts. Once this realisation is grasped, gender inequality can start being prevented, beginning at home. The campaign stems from the insight that women do not realise the discrimination they were subjected to because of their school dresses until provoked into answering questions about what they couldn\'t do (and still don’t do) in dresses. Functioning through a variety of executions that make use of one message and the symbolism of the school achievement scroll, the campaign targets mothers and young women.
