International Satellite Calibration and Validation - a joint project with the European Space Agency and NASA. Developed a Satellite Calibration and Validation training course for post-graduate students, the first of its kind in Africa. The design and building of a radiometric calibration measurement site for the Department of Science and Technology. It is the first manmade radiometric calibration site of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, giving the CSIR international acclaim in Satellite Calibration and Validation. Satellite Calibration and validation require a lot of fieldwork, installation of measuring equipment, measurement of atmospheric conditions and processing and analysis of the collected data.
