Michael Shanahan Senior Account Manager/Principal Marketplace Group Michael Shanahan began his career in marketing management shortly after graduating from San Diego State University in 1990. As a member of Wells Fargo's corporate marketing division he was responsible for many important projects including the development of the Wells Fargo History Museum in San Diego and production of an award winning documentary on Wells Fargo's trademark stagecoach. In 1996, Mr. Shanahan joined Union Bank of California as Division Marketing Manager for trust and private banking. While there, he co-founded the bank's Financial Watch program which trains bank employees to help prevent financial scams that victimize senior citizens. Mr. Shanahan also managed the promotion of the bank's first private banking office in San Diego. Mr. Shanahan served as Marketing Director for one of San Diego's largest corporate law firms for three years. He joined the staff of the Maritime Museum of San Diego as Director of Marketing and communications and built an integrated marketing and promotions program from the ground up. As a result, the museum experienced unprecedented growth, more than tripling admissions and public events revenues and gaining a national reputation for outstanding operations and quality marketing communications. Mr. Shanahan founded Marketplace Group in 2002 to provide business owners with quality, affordable strategic marketing management and corporations and institutions with experienced and effective management consulting services. Mr. Shanahan lives in La Mesa, California with his wife and son. When not working with clients, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, playing music and coaching youth sports.
