Lathe Steady Rest Roller Bearing Retrofit
A simple way to support a long, thick-walled tube on a lathe without marring the outside surface was needed. I designed and had built the roller bearing mounts shown here that were used in the steady rest. These simple adapters were quickly machined and off-the-shelf bearings and fasteners completed the assembly, all finished in a few days.
