My name is Matt Howell and I am a freelance Digital Artist and Animator since June 2013. I finished my BA (Hons) degree in Illustration and Animation in June 2013, underpinning taking a two-year course before that (Foundation Degree in Animation and Games Art). During my three years in total at University, I had gained skills and abilities to achieve quality Illustrated artwork for clients in traditional, digital illustration and 3D animation upper pinning writing abilities for cartoons page layout. I have used Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects which I previously used on a course at Doncaster College (the hub), whilst also gaining new software knowledge in Corel Painter 12, Adobe Animate and Adobe InDesign. I have been doing this line of work as stated in the 'experience' section. I have dealt with numerous clients; illustrated/caricature portraits, digital cartoon characters for an eBook design, and other art commissions; posters and logos. For example, I have worked for Mark Barnsley (cartoonist), Alan Scraggie (cartoonist and a member of the Association of Illustrators). I have also dealt with clients who have wanted advertisement designs, magazines cover designs and campaign posters. For example, I have designed advertisement posters and tickets for a local Slimming World in Rotherham, a front cover for a London film magazine (this was a competition set by D&AD also inducing the magazine company as well) and also designed a campaign poster with postcards for Doncaster College’s Dyslexia Project. Whilst also achieving this, I used research that I had gathered when I was producing the dyslexia poster and created an educational ebook for children age 9+ (back by a group of mothers in the Rotherham area) to educate younger children on our solar system using a cartoon. Later on, I took up a streaming hobby became a Twitch streamer; streaming art and gameplay. I entertained my viewers by teaching them how to use adobe software such as Character Animator, Photoshop and Illustrator to learn how to create animation basics. Now currently I am working on a Youtube production cartoon for my channel whilst still streaming on Twitch.
