As part of the YCN Boost brief we were asked to redesign their energy drink packaging as a minimum. I approached the task by looking at the competition to see where Boost was lacking. My conclusion was that they had not tapped into the coffee energy drinks and thus I decided to develop a new range for boost of coffee energy drinks. The unique element to this brief was the shape of the packaging, I wanted to change the appearance so that the drink would appeal to the average commuter but not look like a cheap energy drink can and so the can would be shaped like a stereotypical coffee cup.

I looked at an existing brand in the supermarket that was both popular and that I felt needed rebranding and I chose Princes. I felt the packaging had no character and so I looked at the history of the company for inspiration. I changed their logo and packaging to fit in with their founding roots and developed a nice range of packaging labels to give their products a more vintage feel.
