Cook book - Editorial
Food is culture. A phrase I heard in my early student days abroad that struck me as important was: “you are an ambassador of your culture.” That phrase stuck with me, so I invited some friends from my English class to my house for a food exchange. I cooked them some Brazilian food and they brought some home-cooked Korean food. I noticed how food was important to show people your own culture.\n\nBut then, I started to get the idea of developing a cookbook, to show to others a little of my culture and finally be able to show my family what skills I have gained in college. I am doing all the research to equilibrate the recipes of what I consume at home and what represents my culture, designing the pages, planning and taking all the photography and finally printing and binding the book.\n\nI started to create this book, to bring a little of my culture and my home to others who may want to read this book as well as to honor the best of what my mother could give me: the love and her effort
About Me
Hi, my name is Lucas Sales. I am a design student with interest in… creativity! As a design professional, I consider a wide area that requires multiple skills to communicate what is needed in its required time. Currently studying Communication, Fine Arts and Media at University of Nebraska at Omaha, originally from Brazil where I did study Industrial and Graphic design at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, one of the most important design colleges in Brazil. I have interest in many design related area such as interaction, animation, layout, video, editorial/ journalism and photography. Some distinct areas, others simply complementary. Creativity is that, knowing the right resources for the ideal moment.
