About Me - Jack-of-All-Trades in my work history, I've had contact with industries and jobs in fields as widely ranged as hydraulic manufacturing, security and store detective, FEMA and Urban Search and Rescue, dog training, taxes, identity fraud recovery, and photography, with ties in every field coming back to my editing, writing, and proofing skills. Experience - In writing and editing, I have been an editor for the literary magazine 'Arnazella', as well as for a number of club-based newsletters, including both factual news based periodicals and creative writing offerings. I have transcribed and documented training materials for everything from piston-filling machines to tax and accounting software, and I regularly work as a volunteer editor/proofreader on creative writing projects for a multitude of authors, including a wide range of authors for whom English is a second language. Philosophy - My job as a proofreader is to catch spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors, and to help the author present his or her work in the most polished manner possible. As an editor (or 'beta' for those in some writing fields), my job is to be a mirror for the author, to help the author to see what has been written and how it may appear to the pubic eye; additionally, upon request, my job is to help the author to adjust that vision until it matches what the author truly wishes to present. In transcription, my job is to copy what is presented as exactly as possible. My favorite job is a combination of multiple skills, to present the very best product possible for my employer.
