Street Wheels
Street Wheels won the Judges' Award in the 24 Hour Design Challenge at the 2011 Include Conference. The concept was for a fun, addictive game designed for use on the internet and smartphones. A variety of different wheeled modes of transport could be used to navigate urban areas, in racing or exploratory scenarios. In this way, awareness would be raised in a non-hectoring manner as to the importance of terrain and the obstacles people (i.e. not just wheelchair users) encounter every day. The multi-disciplinary team had never met before the event and came from a number of different backgrounds.
About Me
Grew up in Birmingham. Studied and worked in Bristol. Currently in London. I have a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, and worked a total of six years at Airbus (formerly British Aerospace). I ended up as a Structural Design Engineer, focussing on wing design for research and new projects. I completed the Innovation Design Engineering course, a combined MA/MSc co-run by the Royal College of Art and Imperial College in the summer of 2011.
