He was raised in the suburbs of Kolkata. Here he did his [login to view URL]. from Calcutta University on 1991. But was never a careerist person by nature. After graduation he got himself associated with various social works in the suburban slums and in the rural belts among tribal population of Bengal and its surrounding districts. There he initiated in raising the consciousness of those deprived population on the issues of health, education, environment, community life and legal rights. During those days he used to write a lot on various social issues and it accelerated his interaction with people of various facets of life. Thus, after almost a whole decade of mixing with the common people of his country, he returned again to Kolkata. There he started his career as freelance proofreader mostly of educational text books of science subjects. Very often he had to edit also. In the mean time, he also started illustrating on text books of science stream of 10 + 2 level with the help of software¬ – Adobe Photoshop and CorelDraw. There being very little room for creativity, now he has almost stopped proofreading and editing (of course illustrating text books was not that boring). In stead, he has resumed writing again. For the last six years he is writing for various firms situated in USA, UK, Canada and Australia. He is mainly interested in writing fresh articles on popular science, global change, on the matters of social concern etc. His second preference is translation from English to Bengali.
