Calling C++ class methods from C# using COM
Use case: I have a DLL with lot of classes and methods that is generated in VC++. So, being unmanaged code, this dll will not be able to communicate with my C# application. So, I need to make this VC++ dll to be accessible from C#. I could do this with PInvoke but we are not exporting any classes in dlls. So another alternative is making this DLL to have COM support. For every class, I will create a COM interface and the methods that need to be exposed to outside of the dll. COM interfaces have GUIDS associated with them. So, they can be registered using regsvr32. And then you can reference that dll anywhere in your C#, VB.NET projects.
