Education Bachelor’s “Second Class Honours” in Applied Business Computing (2004-2007) University of Sunderland, Sunderland, United Kingdom Excelled in Courses such as: Advanced Software Engineering, Information Systems Project Management, E-Commerce Strategy and Management, Human computer Interaction, Database Systems Development with Oracle 9i, Information Systems Development with the .NET Framework and XML, and Applied Computer Networking Completed a Double Project which consisted of an implemented AJAX-Enabled Electronics Medical Records System using the Java 2 Platform, coupled with a dissertation and presentation covering Enterprise JavaBeans and the Spring Framework and the System’s Planning, Design, and Development. Work Experience Software Developer (2008 - Current) Cadooz AG. (Hamburg, Deutschland) Enhancing the performance, expanding the functionality and the maintenance of an Internet Applications developed with Java 5, J2EE, the Struts Framework and Hibernate. My duties as one in a team of 8 Software Developers are divided into three categories: 1. The design, implementation, and testing of components of an Intranet Business Application, which is used to support our business process. The design and implementation are centered around the development of interface components using Apache Velocity Templates, as well as the back end processing using Java in cooperation with the Struts Framework. Our IT Dept had built their own Framework for dealing with all aspects of the back end processing on top of the Java 5 and J2EE frameworks. Hence my duties are to expand on this Framework as necessary to provide functionality to new business needs. For testing purposes, I use a Virtual Server (Linux - Debian) which I must administer through SSH, as well as a MySQL Database Server, which I administer through PhpMyAdmin. Testing of back end processing is done through J-Unit. 2. The design, implementation and testing of a new B2B Portal, which connects our Corporate Clients with their accounts, and enables them to place new orders. Our corporate clients are divided into 3 categories: A, B, and C. The classification of the client is based on the volume of their purchase orders, and hence different technical support structures exists for each class of client. My duties when I started were to begin implementation of the portal using the aforementioned Framework, while at the same time connecting the portal to our internal business process. 3. The development and maintenance of a new component which was added to the aforementioned Framework. Said component was responsible for processing Excel Files, and transforming the data within to adhere to the specification of one of our corporate partners' mainframe, so that we can exchange data for the generation of new reloadable Smart Cards.
