"The Golden era of Chinese paintings"
My project is inspired by Chinese paintings of Song dynasty. These paintings are based on natural elements like birds, flowers, bamboos, fruits and branches etc. Their artists used strong black lines, ink washes and sharp dotted brushstrokes to produce realistic paintings. The aim was to give an effect of vintage and classic and then developed the concept of a fabric inspired by classical effect. Colors are very subtle and restrained that have been used to show the inspiration being drawn from Chinese paintings. Major technique is digital printing but few initial samples have explored with different techniques like embroidery, screen printing, knitting and weaving.
