Remote Labs
Lab equipment will be interfaced to server computer through Data Acquisition card. Experiments can be conducted from a remote client on this equipment. As my part of the project, I have developed two experiments. First one is LVDT experiment, in which a robotic arrangement is made for the core movement. Through computer we will give input to primary coil, pulses to stepper motor controlling core movement and capturing voltage of the secondary coil. Second one is PID pH and temperature control. Set point and PID Parameters are set on user front panel. Temperature is controlled using a heater and pH is controlled by valves of standard acid and base chambers. Remote labs will be helpful to complement theory in class, to conduct experiments remotely saving time and money and experiment sessions can be saved on computer for further references. This system was made available to small colleges around BITS.
