Having worked full-time as the in-house journalist and online editor of Scotland's largest property guide since early 2003, I have remained in this role on a freelance basis, since I dedicated my career to developing G75 Media three years ago. I continue to work alongside hundreds of solicitors and estate agents across Scotland on a weekly basis, visiting and writing about homes for sale, and reporting authoritatively on the property market.

There was good news for G75 Media at the annual Freelancer of the Year awards, which took place in London's Covent Garden in March 2010. Neil Cumins, the founder of G75 Media, received a special award for outstanding work in the field of editorial writing. The award was presented to Neil by Mike Berry, the MD of event organisers Xchangeteam.com, and also by Bob Wailling, the MD of communications specialists Beetroot. Neil was commemorated for his work in assembling a twice-yearly customer newsletter on behalf of opticians group Sight Care, which involved writing editorial on behalf of over 30 different opticians practices around the UK, all within a two-week timeframe. Speaking from the stage immediately after his achievement was announced, Neil had this to say: "To be up here, in front of all these hugely talented people, is quite incredible. It's taken a great deal of hard work to get established as a copywriter, but tonight might just be the moment when G75 Media really comes of age." The Freelancer of the Year awards are held annually to celebrate the cream of the UK's freelance community. Now into their seventh year, each ceremony has been bigger and more high-profile than its predecessors, and this year's event was attended by 100 of the UK's leading media executives, freelancers and industry insiders. G75 Media's commendation in the Editorial section was particularly impressive considering that this was by far the largest of the six categories, with a total of 11 shortlisted finalists picked from thousands of entries over the last few months.

GSPC is the leading property selling agency in Scotland, and I joined the company in 2003 as a journalist, before being promoted to the post of Online Editor in 2007 and then taking this role freelance in 2010. Over the last decade, I have handled a hugely diverse range of responsibilities, from writing and editing through to website maintenance and content management. My daily workload has also involved other duties including photography, internal/external communications, and supervising junior colleagues.
