About Me
I’m a brand new Freelancer. I have a PhD in music composition from the University of Virginia and a masters degree in music technology from Florida International University. I have written for a large variety of different musical contexts including work for soloists, chamber ensembles, and orchestras. I grew up playing guitar in rock bands and continue to write songs of all types. I also make large scale sound installations that utilize new forms of audio technology. All this is to say, I’ve learned to deal with technology, production values, and the parameters of music (timbre, rhythm, form, melody, and harmony) to write music quickly and in many styles. I’ve been focusing on composing commercial instrumental music that blends post rock (explosions in the sky), ambient (Brian Eno), and American minimalism (Phillip Glass, Steve Reich).
