Little do the avid readers and fans know, alchemy was once the obsession of scholars from ancient Egypt to Elizabethan England and is widely accepted among the scientific community as the origin of modern chemistry. Could this “outdated” philosophical study have also fathered in many of the religious practices still seen throughout the monotheistic religions today?
