I have over 22 years of experience in programming, graphic design, web development, and computer support services. I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Radford University's Media Studies Program with a concentration in Web Design.
I graduated in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Studies and a concentration in Web Design. I recently began working toward a Master of Arts in Education, concentrating in Instructional Technology. I plan on completing this degree in May 2013.
During the past four years, I have been employed as a Web Developer with University Computing Support (4Help) at Virginia Tech. During this time, I was tasked with the overhaul of both [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] web sites. Additionally, I also performed a weekly duty managing the student consultants at 4Help.
My expertise includes strong programming skills and I am proficient in Visual Basic, HTML, DHTML, AJAX, Flash, PHP, XHTML, javascript, ASP, vbscript, to name a few. I am adept in working with database applications and am experienced in creating and maintaining database applications using Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL. Also, I have experience with both IIS Administration and LAMP Administration.
When I am not coding or designing for the web, I like to participate in a wide variety of activities, from martial arts to film. I had minors in both Martial Arts and Cinematic Arts at Radford University. Additionally, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, writing, mountain biking, and many fitness activities.
I am currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo and have been teaching the art for the past 6 years.
