I am a freelance programmer that has been in the consulting business since 2000. I specialize in programming and administration of Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, and Windows systems. Typically I have the same clients for 4+ years. Since 1994, I have worked in circuit board manufacturing (CAD/CAM), semi-conductor control systems (wafer etching, PVD processing, CVD processing), manufacturing automation systems, software security, hardware simulation, web programming, and system administration. I typically have used C/C++, Perl, Python, shell scripting, and Java in many of my projects. I have also used lesser known older technologies to support legacy equipment for our clients. If you have a need to support old equipment, I am interested in that kind of work. With respect to system administration, I have implement all types of systems serving many types of functions (firewalls, VPN servers, file servers, virtualization, Windows/Linux integration). I am familiar with Oracle versions 8i, 9i, and 10g. I have been a DBA for for both data warehouses and high availability OLTP databases. In conclusion, I have performed a variety of work from writing kernel device drivers talking directly to the hardware to managing and tuning systems to move terabytes of data. I have been involved with the complete software cycle (design, coding, testing, delivery, documentation, and support).
