Ian Butler began writing in 2008 after suffering a stroke in England. Currently living with his partner in County Fermanagh, Ian has over twenty years experience in social work, including working with high-risk offenders. Previous to this he travelled extensively across Europe and The Americas. Interested in fiction and non-fiction as well as polemical pieces from a left of centre perspective, Ian is developing novels, plays and screenplays. His first screenplay was short-listed for NI Screen's Primetime award and a first novel 'Burger Bar Dad' was published in 2012. Ian has had work published in the local Fermanagh papers, various professional journals and lately on the BBC website. He has written for political journals, mostly on the subjects of global warming and social issues. He has also had contributions published on-line in various political blogs. Currently Chair-person of the Fermanagh Creative Writing Group, Ian has been instrumental in helping it reach a prominent position in the cultural life of the County. Although somewhat incapacitated by his stroke, he is still able to travel, and is a keen photographer.

Paul Castle loves his son Jack and hates being a Burger Bar Dad. Seeing his son only on Wednesdays and Saturdays pulls him apart. His ex-wife is a thrusting ambitious banker and he is a middling, not very ambitious Birmingham journalist with hopes of being a playwright. The divorce gave her the house, and he got the guilt. He's just about keeping it together, but after a disastrous parents evening, Paul discovers that Jack's mother is planning to move to London and put Jack in a private board
