My name is Sarmad Nawaz and I have been working in the field of Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing for more than 18 years. For more than 16 years, along with technical assignments, I have been involved in hands-on leadership and management roles to develop and maintain strategic initiatives and operations for Automation test teams. Throughout my tenure, I have worked directly with North American and European Clientele to deliver zero defect releases. Currently, I am spearheading the test automation efforts as an SQA Automation Architect and managing more than 20 QA resources. With expertise in manual and automation testing, I have been leading and managing multiple projects for the web, windows, services & APIs and mobile-based applications that included business intelligence applications for E-Commerce, Finance, Banking, Energy and Insurance sectors along with various infrastructure and architecture framework projects. Throughout my tenure, I have led QA teams working directly with North American and European Clientele. We collaborate with cross-located South Asian teams and effectively conduct QA efforts to deliver zero defects releases. Additionally, I have managed teams to extend support to respective teams to provide them with training demos and support for projects post-release. I have worked with various teams to establish the automation strategy and develop the automation frameworks from scratch to enable comprehensive coverage for all aspects including UI, API and Databases. In addition to functional requirements, these automation frameworks also provided ways to capture the non-functional metrics crucial for our platforms' efficiency and usage. Mainly I have created these automation frameworks using Python, Cypress, Playwright, C# and Selenium. Furthermore, I have extended my role in DevOps in the true essence of being the QAOps by facilitating the creation of the pipelines using Jenkins and GitLabs Actions to ensure continuous automation and testing occurs throughout the development cycle. In addition to the automation framework, my focus has been to maximize Automation ROI to ensure we are having effective implementations to identify the issues at the earliest. Along with Software QA and Testing, I have strong knowledge of Agile and its methodologies/frameworks including Scrum and SAFe' along with CyberSecurity, Lean and Quality Management Systems.
