SubStandard Magazine
What the hell happened in 2015? A lot. A lot happened. Here at SubStandard Magazine we take a look back and report on some of the best stories and happenings of what was an incredibly eventful year in order to kick start and get ready for another year of great stories in global events, politics, entertainment, music and health. SubStandard is a satyrical magazine in which parodies some of the biggest stories of 2015 across four different topics. The magazine is disguised to appear as serious as possible with only the content of the articles giving away the fictitious nature of the publication.
About Me
Dan is a 27-year-old graphic designer and illustrator based in East London. His speciality is branding/visual identity, although he works on an all manner of different projects and types of graphic design ranging from editorial, motion, web, UI/UX, and illustration work – he even has a knack for copywriting. Dan’s style and skillset varies a lot. If not clean-cut tech identities or playful branding for a vegan egg replacement product, you’ll also find find a range of psychedelic illustrations and bouncy motion graphics in his portfolio. In August 2021 he took on the position of Senior Graphic Designer at the brand strategy and communications agency Boldspace. He is yet to add a ton of fantastic projects to his portfolio, but many of the big ones are still in development. Watch this space. Outside of his career, Dan is an avid music producer and Ableton fanatic, occasional hiker, VSCO addict, a self-described film buff, and enjoys talking about himself in the third person. You can sometimes find him aimlessly wandering the streets of East London. Wanna chat about design (or anything else), his email’s dankearney@live.co.uk. And he is always on the lookout for new opportunities.
