Craig has been a provider of remote electronic voting services since 1998 and was CEO of [login to view URL], which he founded, until 2008 when the company was sold to US interests. Now an independent consultant with no ongoing connection to [login to view URL], Craig draws on his experience as project manager and technical lead for remote Internet voting deployments he completed around the world. These include regional government elections in the United Kingdom, union elections in Canada and the USA, and more recently, a remote voting military pilot for the 2007 Federal Election in Australia which doubled turnout. Most deployments of this technology were a first for their users and many were pioneering efforts in the field of Internet systems and secure systems. The larger of these deployments were independently audited and evaluated by some well known auditors including KPMG, Actica, Qinetiq and BMM. The evaluations included security, accessibility, standards compliance and performance. Craig has spoken before Victorian and Federal Parliamentary committees on electronic voting and has contributed to testimony before the US Congress and the United Nations. Craig has published on remote voting security in a number of forums and Burton won the 2006 Austrade Secrets of IT in Business Services, a national competition. Craig's skills include Internet security analysis, cryptographic protocol use, disability and equity of access design, multi-lingual interfaces, integration of e-voting systems with paper and telephone voting systems and public education skills. Craig holds a BSc hons from the University of Melbourne in Computer Science and a BSc in Cognitive science from La Trobe University.
