Colossus of Rhodes Museum
Background • In 1965 the Local Authorities on the island of Rhodes, Greece announced that they would develop a New Colossus of Rhodes and designated this as a key development priority for the island. • Since then there have been various, unsuccessful attempts to bring the development of a New Colossus of Rhodes to fruition. • In October 2015, our Design Team presented to the People of Rhodes and of the World our detailed Development Proposals for The Helios Museum, The 21st Century New Colossus of Rhodes. This is an European initiative to create a museum and cultural centre dedicated to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Colossus of Rhodes. The Design Team was led by architect Arbri Palla from Greece and was composed of young, dynamic professionals from various European Countries, as Greece, Italy United Kingdom and Spain.
