My name is Aonghus Flynn, I am an Irish web developer and I have been living in Barcelona since January 2004.
I graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology in the summer of 1998 and started working for Educational Multimedia Group (EMG), where I developed e-learning software. After a year in development I was promoted to the position of company trainer, which I enjoyed immensely as it gave me the opportunity to meet new people and work with new technologies.
I left EMG in 2001 to go to America to work for a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers American Football team. While there, I was a video production assistant. My main responsibilities were editing video for the coaches. Despite my best efforts, they failed to reach the Super Bowl (!) so I returned to Ireland in March 2002.
Upon my return to Ireland I started working for Electric Paper, who offered me a three-month contract to work from Barcelona when I decided to move here late last year. During my time working for this company I have held the position of Flash developer and trainer. I have worked mostly on online application development using Flash and other web technologies. I developed products for different platforms including; cdROMs, DVDs, networks and of course the World Wide Web.
I consider myself to be a hard-working, versatile employee who picks up new skills easily and quickly. I work well in both team situations and on my own initiative. Working to tight deadlines has been the “norm” throughout my career.
