Fluctuations Exhibition Design
Fluctuations was a faculty exhibition at The College of New Jersey for which I designed an entire visual identity as well as promotional materials, including posters, invites, catalogues, wall text and supplemental signage. For this job, I had to solve the challenge of designing for an exhibition which included a huge variety of work from all disciplines and media. For this reason I didn’t want to create a design based on any one specific work or style, so I took my inspiration from the work Fluctuations itself. The idea of a continuous wave, that could be abstracted or become an optical illusion is what brought me to my final, dot based, ‘fluctuating’ design, which later became incorporated throughout all promotional media.
About Me
I’m a recent graphic design graduate based in the New York City area. Though I have wide breadth of skills, from web design to packaging, my design strengths lie in editorial, print, layout, and identity design. I have 3 years of experience of working within gallery settings, whether it be through creating promotional material for events and exhibitions to working within communications teams to create functional press releases and email campaigns. I have a big passion for art history, writing and research, which has helped supplement my creativity by providing an additional strength of in-depth research when it comes to exploring potential solutions and concepts. I am someone who is constantly inspired, whether it is through design history or everyday life and cultures. I’m open minded and a person who seeks challenges: you’ll never find me happier than in a library, researching different ways to solve a visual problem, or late night in a studio, creating.
