QIMC Infrastructure Upgrade I Jan 2005 – Jul 2005 The re-construction of the IT infrastructure of QIMC Company, when I started my position as an IT Head in QIMC the IT infrastructure was in a very bad status, most PC’s was P II with no servers no uniform applications, pc network used Hubs of 10 MB speed not switches, all pc’s was accessing the internet with dial-up connection, without any type of security or firewalls, plus there was no corporate or enterprise edition of antivirus, also with no wireless solutions for mobile computers, so I decided to change all of that and now I achieved the following 1. All computers now are P4 with LCD Monitors 2. We have 4 IBM Servers running Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, ISA Server 2004 as a firewall and proxy server, Exchange Server 2003 for internal e-mails, SUS Service for managing Patches, SQL 2005 Database, Oracle Database, Oracle Application server and developer 3. All network hardware are now switches that run at 100 MB with backbone of 1 GB, plus wireless solution based on Linksys Access points and Signal Extenders 4. We have Norton Antivirus Corporate edition that scans all traffic from our employees Pc’s plus also the e-mails. 5. Implementing new applications for accounting, personal, systems. 6. Implementing Oracle Collaboration Suite and starting to evaluate e-Business Suite. 7. Disaster Recovery Plans through Offline options for employee files, Hard Disk Imaging, Rain Controllers on servers for hardware errors, and backup plans. ERP Developing Its an ambitious project to develop an ERP using the latest Technology to compete with branded well known ERP’s, in ease of use and license and implementation price as well, here we are using many new cool things such as Microsoft WPF, WCF, WWF, we embedded in it Archiving and Connect Management, Work Flow, Security and Auditing. Our development life cycle is based on best practices in the field, we expect the first version of this product to reach market at 4th quarter of 2011.
