"Good ideas are not good when they stay in your mind", that is why, in the first place, I felt the need to know and understand a little more about the basics of camera operation. The camera is the tool of the artist and no matter how good the idea is if the camera doesn't paint the picture well, the message gets lost in translation. I operate the cameras in my films giving me insight and expertise in the technical part of filmmaking. But as much as the camera, light is essential! A filmmaker that knows how to shape light doesn't need the latest camera on the market to capture a cinematic moving picture. Apart from the technical side, the concept. The good ideas need context, good storytelling and creative approach. Every story has its own vibe or mood, as a filmmaker I immerse myself in the concept and I try to better find the voice for the story instead of doing it the other way around. For that, you need creativity and teamwork. No man is an expert in everything, that is why I always pushed myself to work with different people, people that are experts in their area so that the stories are not limited by my limitations. Teamwork, communication and humility are skills that on set are indispensable for people to be able to trust you and your vision.
