I need a stand alone program that runs on Windows and MacOS that allows a user to specify the path to a local XML file and then run XPath expressions against that XML. The program should display the result. Ideally the interface should have a file path at the top and then two window: one for the XPath, the other for the result. The program can be developed in any language as long as it is a stand-alone executable that someone can download and run (on either Windows or Mac -- although there can be two separate versions).
The business need is for developers to test XPath expressions -- the many available online XPath tester are bulky and display ads.
