take a look at this import tool
The idea is that the xml files is uploaded and then the fields are mapped to a staging tabell to hold the information.
From there we will then be able to add information to production database, so it is a two step process.
Import xml files to staging tables, and then we check the data before going further.
Transfer data from staging tables to production tables
Have added the excel sheet that shows the fields that we have already gone through and where it should be mapped to
but I think that the faster we can make the basic import script we can add also the transfer script.
And just add more values after we have them, since there are more then we have in the document also but those are the ones we know of at this point.
so this is how i have broken down the steps:
1. Staging and production DB config (able to switch db environment)
2. Staging import module
3. Staging to production transfer/import module
4. Excel upload field data mapping module
5. XML field data mapping module
For the staging database, everything can be in one table, so just call it patient_field, customer_field etc. Just use the excel sheet to make the names.
And we use that for mapping to production database
The idea is to combine multiple related tables into one staging table, i.e. customer and patient. Customers and patients are linked to each other and a customer will always be created and linked to the patient when a patient is created.
So xml (and other) files would be imported into the staging table. The application will then take staging table records and create data in the application based on existing business rules, i.e customer and patient.
