i need an app interface that will connect to a SQL database (it doesn't have to create one), create a template table with field names I want to create, and save the connection... then: create multiple connections to other MS Sql servers, other MSL sql dbs on the same machine, MS access files, or MS excel files and map fields to the template table (if no field matches the template you can specify a text value for all rows for that source). You should also be able to create custom strings for a mapping such as "[dbo_tl1].[field1] & ' - testdata - ' & [dbl_tl2].[field1]". These settings can be saved for each connection as well as modified or deleted when needed. Once you have created all of the connections and mapped the fields to the template table you should have created a giant union all query that will copy the data from these sources into your template table. You should be able to save this job as a project and can rerun this project at any time. If you rerun the project it should delete * from the template table before appending records. It should also check all of the connections before starting and prompt you and allow you to fix any connection that isn't working. There should be an errror log for anything that does not move or if there is a loss in any connection during transfer. I would prefer that the app use MS Access or MS SQL to save all of the project mappings and connections.
