I have a vb2005 project/program that needs help in a couple area's.
I want to capture data from any source (via copy & paste) where a user can copy and paste data into a textbox on a
dialogcontrol in my vb project.(Most likely source is grabbing data from a web page, but anywhere you can grab the
data via selecting text and copy) The data is as follows:
City, State, ZipCode
I need the vb code to parse the data above, the text to be parsed will be in one large textbox on a dialogcontrol
then transfer the data on the "OK" buttonclick which closes the dialogcontrol and sends the data to the named fields
on another form/panel/textboxes in my vb project.
The data will always be as seen above with the exception of comma's or other punctuation that may or may not be
included in the data when it is pasted into the textbox, so when the data is parsed and transfered into the individual
fields on another form in the project (txtName, txtAddress, txtCity, txtState, txtZipCode, txtPhone) any extra
characters need to be deleted so the data is transfered clean everytime.
I need an XML database (local on the client) that can save data from the fields above and other fields in my project
so that the data can be selected again by a user and used to populate the original fields again as needed.
The XML database will need no more then 30/35 columns of unique data. When a user wants to access the saved data
in my program the user will click a button to open a form that will have a datagrid that will need to display
the saved data and allow a user to click a row (line) on the data grid and then click OK to send that row of data
back to the named fields and close the open form holding the data grid.
I prefer to use something like go to meeting and share out my desktop but if that won't work I can send a sample project in vb2005
