Hi there - I have a wordpress blog. It's currently hosted by yahoo small business which costs around $10/month. I dont' really use it anymore, so I would like to stop spending so much money it every month. BUT I don't want to lose the content which is very precious to me.
So what can I do? It seems to me that my options are:
1. Somehow transfer the whole lot onto my mac. This would mean that my website would be locally accessible to me on my mac, but no longer visible on the internet. This is fine by me.
2. Keep the site online, but transfer to a lower cost host. I believe that [login to view URL] for example charges $2/month and [login to view URL] is free.
I am looking for someone who is familiar with wordpress and can help me decide between the 2 options above and then do it for me.
How would this work? Well I guess we'd do the following:
1. I would give you the login details to my yahoo account (having changed the password to something temporary!) - please note: I don't use yahoo for anything else other than this blog hosting site so I'm not too fussed about giving access to a third party.
2. You would copy down all the files required and probably zip them up.
have just checked in on the yahoo site - I guess that better than giving full site admin privs to chosen freelancer, I could set you up with FTP access so you could do the download.,
Also, I would like to be clear that at the end of it, I do want a working wordpress site with the exact same content as I currently have online, but just hosted locally on my mac.
