Minor Wordpress Theme fix needed

We are trying to add banners to our Wordpress theme, however, every time we do, the green from the header expands down and clashes with the banner. The theme has many customizable options, such as if we make the header slider (banner) full width and responsive, it acts the way we want, however, you can see the green pop out when the browser expands. If we take the responsive mode off, the green does not show, however, the banner is not responsive to fit the width of the browser. Here are examples.... [login to view URL] We want YOU to make it so when we add the Layer Slider (banner) on each page, it is full width, responsive and there is no green showing.
