Job Description:
Hi, I need a security specialist to take a look at a VPS that we use to manage about 10 of our client's wordpress websites.
For Defender:
Install the Defender plugin on each WordPress installation.
Configure Defender settings to enable security measures such as IP lockout, two-factor authentication, and file change detection.
Run a security scan to check for vulnerabilities and security threats.
Address any issues that are detected during the security scan, such as outdated plugins or themes, weak passwords, or suspicious files.
Enable automatic updates for WordPress, plugins, and themes to keep them up-to-date with the latest security patches.
Set up a firewall to block malicious traffic and limit access to specific IP addresses.
Configure email notifications for security events such as file changes, login attempts, and failed login attempts.
Create backups of your website data in case of a security breach.
Regularly monitor the security logs to detect and prevent security threats.
For Imunify AV:
Install Imunify AV on the cPanel WHM server.
Configure Imunify AV settings to enable real-time scanning, malware detection, and quarantine.
Run a full scan of the server to check for malware and viruses.
Address any issues that are detected during the scan, such as infected files or directories.
Enable automatic updates for Imunify AV to keep it up-to-date with the latest security patches.
Set up email notifications for security events such as malware detection, suspicious file modifications, and virus outbreaks.
Use the WebShield feature to protect against web-based attacks such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS).
Use the Proactive Defense feature to detect and prevent attacks such as brute force attacks, DDoS attacks, and port scans.
Regularly monitor the security logs to detect and prevent security threats.
For cPanel and WHM:
Enable two-factor authentication for all cPanel and WHM logins.
Disable root-level access to cPanel and WHM, and create a separate administrative account with limited privileges.
Set up a firewall to block malicious traffic and limit access to specific IP addresses.
Enable automatic updates for cPanel and WHM to keep them up-to-date with the latest security patches.
Use cPHulk to protect against brute force attacks and limit login attempts.
Disable FTP and use SFTP instead to encrypt file transfers.
Use the "Password Strength" feature to enforce strong passwords for all accounts.
Use "ModSecurity" to prevent common web-based attacks such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS).
Create regular backups of all data, including website files, databases, and email accounts.
Regularly monitor the cPanel and WHM logs for any suspicious activity, and investigate any issues that are detected.
