Moving a live Squarespace site to WordPress without losing search traction is really the key challenge here, especially when the new version also needs to feel more artistic instead of just “ported over.” I’d approach this as a structured rebuild: first map the existing page/content setup, then redesign the flow visually, and build the WordPress/WooCommerce side so it stays easy for you to manage after launch. I’ve handled WordPress rebuilds that involved preserving blog structure, improving design personality, and setting up ecommerce for smaller catalogs without overcomplicating the backend. For this kind of project, the difference is usually in balancing creative presentation with clean setup, mobile performance, and a dashboard the owner can actually use day to day. I can also include a short handoff guide after launch. - Roughly how many current pages and products are on the Squarespace site? - Do you want the illustrations created from scratch, or adapted from existing brand elements? - Are there 1-2 reference sites you like for the more playful/artistic direction?

@diektech

Hi — Elias here from Miami. I understand you're moving your Squarespace website to WordPress and looking to revamp its design. This migration is a good chance to enhance user experience and functionality. The real technical challenge often lies in ensuring clean data migration while maintaining SEO integrity and managing the complexities of custom designs and plugins. What usually matters most is ensuring the new site is scalable and can accommodate future growth without sacrificing performance. My approach would focus on a structured migration plan, prioritizing stability and maintainability. I would assess your current site for key features and design elements to replicate or improve upon. Future-proofing the site with a modular architecture will help handle updates and expansions seamlessly. I've managed similar migrations, ensuring that design and performance goals are met without compromising user experience. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 – What specific functionalities do you want to retain or enhance from your current site? Q2 – Are there particular design elements or themes you prefer for the new site? Q3 – How do you envision handling SEO during this migration? Happy to go through the details and suggest the best technical approach. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, We can rebuild your Squarespace website in WordPress with a more creative, artistic feel while preserving your existing content and SEO structure. Our approach: * Review the current Squarespace pages, URLs, content, brand assets, and existing SEO structure. * Plan a custom visual direction with distinctive layouts, graphics, illustrations, typography, and responsive interactions. * Rebuild the pages in WordPress with a lightweight, editable setup. * Configure WooCommerce with products, categories, inventory management, secure checkout, and order management. * Migrate the blog structure, including categories, tags, posts, and relevant URLs. * Add a clean contact form with reliable email delivery. * Implement mobile-first layouts, optimized images, metadata, headings, internal linking, and other basic technical SEO. * Set up redirects where required to protect existing search visibility. * Configure SSL, backups, security, caching, and performance optimization. * Handle DNS/domain migration and thoroughly test links, forms, checkout, products, and responsive layouts. * Provide a simple handover guide/session for managing products, orders, and blog posts. We can first audit the existing site and then create the new WordPress structure while keeping the transition smooth.

@installerpoint

Hi, your Squarespace-to-WordPress revamp is an excellent opportunity to preserve existing content while giving the brand a more expressive, artistic identity. I can structure the rebuild around a responsive custom design, WooCommerce product management, secure checkout, blog taxonomy migration, contact routing, SEO preservation, and launch readiness. I would also recommend staging the migration first to test redirects, forms, performance, backups, and mobile layouts before DNS changes. I’m especially interested in balancing playful graphics with intuitive navigation and dependable WordPress administration. A concise hand-off guide can cover products, orders, blog publishing, and routine maintenance. Check out my portfolio here:- https://www.freelancer.com/u/installerpoint Best Regards, Muhammad Adeel

@ranjika08

You already have the content and structure, so the real opportunity here is to upgrade the experience — better visual rhythm, a more original feel, and a WordPress setup that gives you more control than Squarespace. I’d start by auditing the current URLs/pages, then rebuild them in WordPress with a more expressive layout system, custom visual elements, and WooCommerce configured cleanly for sales and stock management. I’ve worked on WordPress sites where design mattered just as much as the technical side, including blog migrations, ecommerce setup, mobile optimization, and launch checks. For a creative brand, the site should not only look distinctive but also stay fast, editable, and stable once it’s live. A short admin guide for posting blogs and managing products can be included after launch. - About how many products are in the store right now? - Do you want a premium theme customized heavily, or are you open to a more custom-built WordPress front end? - Can you share 1-2 sites that match the artistic tone you want?
