The suggested idea is to develop an aiding technology called Solar Power Monitoring System using IoT for ensuring continuous power supply across the solar cells. The main goal of this project is to detect any fault occurring on the solar system by measuring the voltage and the current of the solar PV using voltage divider circuit, and the current is sensed using Hall Effect Current Sensor. The system is using Arduino Nano microcontroller as its main controller. Then, the main controller calculates all the data from the sensors through an algorithm to analyse the data and send it to the main server as a fault notification. When the microcontroller gets discontinuous voltage or current values, it will detect the fault and therefore notify the customer via LED display, sound from a buzzer and lastly through an sms to the affected customer with the help of IOT protocol. Customers can also get the fault data in the form of visual graphs by using the android interface with the cloud data through WiFi network. This project will help the customers to monitor their renewable energy usage and hence make it energy efficient for them. The cost of the system is affordable for the public and companies. Also, the project is targeting all the people who have a solar system on their houses or farms to help them avoid any issues of the PV system.
