We have a client application with a installer .exe that works fine.
The goal is to be able to install that application on many machines at the same time. We thought about a GPO installing a MSI package, like that: [url removed, login to view]
Currently, that installer is created with a script in Inno setup.
Additional information 1:
The current installer has a dialog with a option between 32 or 64 bits version. It tries to "guess" the correct version based on the Windows registry and it worked very well until now.
So, the MSI has to trust that guess because it needs to be silent for the GPO to work.
Additional information 2:
The choosing between 32 and 64 bits is not from the OS. Is from the Microsoft Office installation.
The application is an Addin to the Office Suite.
To choose, we have to look in the registry to see which version of the Office is installed.
