We have a large number of clients and we often have need for network administration tasks. We use LogMeIn extensively, and would require our network administrator to use LogMeIn to login to systems and perform tasks.
You need to be completely fluent in Windows technologies. You'll need extremely good networking skills. You have to understand Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, VPN (cisco), and you need to be fluent in English.
Tasks will be assigned to you in email, and time requirements will be included (at what time to perform tasks). You need to be able to work on systems on a US Central Time schedule (GMT -6). You'll be communicated with during 9-5 US Central and you may have to perform tasks after 5pm - usually no later than midnight.
Tasks could include installing software, checking backup logs, setting permissions on file folders, working with BlackBerry profession software and more. You will NOT be supporting end users - and you would be required to NEVER work with the end client. You would work exclusively with our engineering team.
Absolutely no work or access to systems would be permitted unless explicitly instructed. Our team will be available to you via phone and email on a 24x7 basis. You are to ask questions to us directly if any arise. If there is any confusion as to what you are supposed to do or when, do NOT make assumptions. Call us directly and we will answer and walk you through what is to be done. Error on the side of checking and double-checking with us every step of the way.
You must be able to follow directions, communicate clearly, document your work, and include the times and dates you performed work, what you did, what problems you had, and how you fixed them. You'll be required to write up that report after EVERY task and submit it to us by email within 24 hours of performing the work. Late/delayed submissions will not be able to be billed.
Compensation will be based on an hourly rate, prorated by the minute. That means if you worked for 16 minutes, we'll take your hourly rate prorated to 16 minutes and that is what is paid.
You will be our subcontractor, meaning we will not be handling your tax payments, benefits, insurance, or other perks. However, we are willing and able to compensate at a good hourly rate.
Replies need to include a detailed resume with compensation requirements. If you haven't worked with Windows technologies for at least five years please do not apply. Applicants will be phone interviewed before hiring. You absolutely have to be able to communicate your knowledge to us clearly and demonstrate that you know what you're doing. You have to know Cisco PIX and ASA platforms and know what you are doing inside the Cisco IOS.
This would be an *ongoing* position/project. There is not a guarantee of any hours - you may not work every week. However, we are growing and willing to pay a handsome hourly rate for the right person.
